Many, many posts and going public!!!!!!!!!!
Date day with Miss Rachel!
There just isn't anything like having mom and dad all to yourself, right!!?!?!
So Richard and I made it a goal to spend some alone time with each girl, at least once a month.
Yesterday was Rachel's Date Day!!!
She was so excited about it all week. It was the last thing she talked about Friday night before falling asleep and then Saturday morning she asked if it was Sunday. No, it's Saturday, Richard told her. "Good, I didn't want to miss my date!"
Rachel chose to go to the zoo for her date! We asked her to pick 3 animals that she wanted to see.
So here was our little adventure!

Rachel so happy and singing along to "Fire Flies", "Blue", along with some Chris Brown and Shakira in the car! We let her pick the songs from the iPod. The very last song she picked was "I am a Child of God" and she asked if she could listen to it 11 times!

Rachel's #1 choice for the zoo was THE GIRAFFES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was a new baby that she really wanted to see! And she decided to name it Ann the Little.
Another animal of choice was a rhino. Well, I think the closest the zoo has is this statue so we took a picture of her with it! Rachel seemed happy with the substitute!
The third animal that she picked was a camel, but we didn't get a picture of them. I asked her why she picked the camel and she said, "Because it is Egyptian!" They are learning about Egypt this year in school (see fieldtrip to see the mummies). Funny girl!

Whenever we go to the zoo, we have to mesure our arms to see how big we are compared to birds around us! Rachel was a Peregrine Falcon and Richard was a Bald Eagle.

We love you Rachel!!!!!!
We are blessed to have you in our lives!
Thank you for being who you are and loving us, too!!!
You are a wonderful daughter and sister!
Always remember you are a Daughter of God who loves you!
Soccer babes!
Now that the season is almost over, how about I put up some soccer pictures?!?!?!? There will be a few more to come in the next couple weeks as we finish up.
For the first time ever, Sarah and Rachel played league soccer. Going into the season, I was a little nervous. Would they like it? Would they get bored and sit down on the field? Would they even understand the game itself? Especially the "no-touching-the-ball-with-your-hands-unless-you-are-the-goalie" thing???
Well, here is your answer........
Rachel- co-ed Kindergarten team

First practice. She loved to throw the ball in and chase it around!

Looks like a great game!

Sarah- girls soccer 2nd and 3rd grade team
Sarah listened a lot during her first practice. She was just taking it all in. Her coach warned us that a lot of times new girls will kind of hang back and let the others girls play more. Maybe next season she would be right in the middle of the action. That's what he said...

Rachel says she likes to be a defender or the goalie. So she can be ready to run in to help!

What really happened............

Sarah loves soccer and is so fast she follows the ball everywhere! I don't think she is ever nervous. She just wants to get out there and play! She loves to get in there and kick and pass and steal the ball! She doesn't like to be a defender like Rachel. She would rather play forward and be in the thick of things all the time!

Great kick Sarah!

I think her coach was so surprised that she rushed right in to play so quickly!
So now that the season is almost over, what are we going to do about soccer??? I think we are really going to miss it! We will be playing in the field behind our house all summer for sure!
And we have already signed up for Fall Soccer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS Softball season starts the beginning of June. Both Sarah and Rachel are playing it and Richard is Sarah's coach. What a blast! It is going to be a crazy and fun season for us! 2 games a week for each girl!!!!!! Hang on for the ride!
Past Four Weeks!!!
Here are the misc. adventures of us during the last four (probably even six) weeks! Just looking at the pictures makes me smile!! (0:

At church, there are four children turning 8 years old this year. And they are all girls!! Lizzie, Ashton, Sarah, and Gracie. It is so awesome to watch them learn and grow and take the decision seriously to be baptized! Sarah doesn't turn 8 for another few months, so we will just learn and prepare for that day!

HI!!! says Rachel

HI!!! says Rachel

New dresses so we had to have a photoshoot. Most Sunday mornings begin with a Fashion Show at our house!

HEY!!! from Sarah

Emma is becoming our resident grouch! Not really!!!! Lately there have been many grumpy faces to the camera! I just wanted to put up 2 of them!

And yet, there are funny little times like this. I was working on the computer while Emma was eating her snack and I turned around just in time to see these pretzel toes! What a silly girl! We sure love her!

We have an amazing family museum, and we love it there!! Here, Rachel and I are "playing some musical pipes with the provided flip flops". Yeah, I thought it was funny, too!

Sarah's beautiful dresser and pictures!

Rachel's for sure! Kung Fu Panda rules!

And you can tell this is Emma's bed, because the infamous Ducky is in the picture. Where would we be without Ducky!

And Emma and Rachel share a wall with their dressers on it, so we had to do this wall, too!

Room Changes-
For over a year now the girls have all been in the same room. A set of bunk beds and a day bed, allowing Richard to have an office to study in. It has truly been an adventure for sure! There are times that we all struggled with it, but most of the time it has been great. I think that it has brought the girls closer and they didn't fight as much. Who knew???

Last month Richard decided that he doesn't really need the extra room for his office and Sarah wanted to spend more time at night reading. So Sarah got her own room and we took the bunk beds apart for Rachel and Emma. We decorated their walls and it has been great! Sarah gets her reading time and Rachel and Emma get their sleep!!! So here are a few pictures of the wall decor we did!

I think they all turned out great! And the girls LOVE their new rooms!!!

We found a classic Merry-go-round and the kids went CRAZY!!! SO much fun! It is just like the one I played on when I was a child!
Sarah's Spring Piano Recital-
For about a year now, Sarah has been taking piano lessons. And she loves it! She can't walk past the piano without opening it and playing it! Her teacher held her Spring recital this last week and it was wonderful. Sarah played 2 songs. "A Little Night Music" and "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf". She was great! She was so serious and didn't even seem nervous!!! We are so proud of how hard Sarah works and so glad she loves the piano!!! You are amazing, sweet Sarah!

Sarah with her teacher, Jamie, her best friend's mom! And one of her mom's great friends! So lucky to have her as Sarah's teacher!
And Mother's Day, 2010

Got a new shirt (on clearance, of course, and got another one in red and pink).
