The next things we checked off were visiting the Field of Dreams and Richard ran the Bix 7.
The girls have never seen the movie, but we had to go visit "The Field of Dreams". We went about almost 2 years ago but it was in the spring and the corn wasn't tall!
We are lucky that we can drive there within a couple of hours!
We had to gather on the bleachers in front of the house!
Then we played baseball as a family and the girls LOVED it!
Standing in the outfield. What a great view!
Then we had to take a few pictures in the corn. The lighting was CRAZY!!!
But the girls really thought it was so much fun!
And finally, while we were at the "Field of Dreams", there was a helicopter spraying the crops and circling and sweeping over the fields. We sat and watched them for like 20 mins. It kept flying over us and the girls would laugh!
This is a picture of the helicopter refueling. It would land on a tiny pad on a truck and refuel and then take off again. It was really cool!
AND....
The Bix 7
~Ever since Richard served his mission in the area, he has wanted to run in the Bix 7 (a 7 mile run up and down the hills and through downtown).
~We thought that he may not be able to run it because he had a class. But then his class cancelled (dangit, he needed that class) and he was able to sign up for the race.
~The girls and I sat on the lawn of a friends house which was along the race route and enjoyed the fun atmosphere and the crowds and all the fun.
We brought TEENY TINY grapes for snack for the girls and they LOVED them!
When Richard ran past we yelled and screamed for him! The girls loved seeing Richard run by!!!
Here are some pictures of the race!

Run, Richard, Run!!!

Keep On Going!!!

Go Go Go!!!

It was a long, HOT race and it was super tough, Richard said, but I am so proud of him!
But, he said it was really fun, too!
The community really gets out and supports the runners. There were bands by the sides of the road, a slip and slide they could go down along the way, tons of water and treats and at the end there was a big party to enjoy!!!
Richard did his best and finished his race!
We love you and are so proud of you!
You are an amazing Father, Husband and Man!
We love you! Way to go!!!
