Sarah's Baptism!!!

On September 18th, 2010, Sarah chose to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was a big decision for an 8-year-old to make and she took it very seriously.
We are so proud of what a wonderful young woman you are growing into, Sarah!

Here we go again!!!!

So, we are getting back into the thick of things again!
We finished up our summer strong:

Swimming, swimming, and more swimming!

We were also so blessed so have some great friends who invited us to watch a baseball game from their company suite. It was a fun game and a CRAZY humid night, so it was nice to duck inside to cool off sometimes!

Now, I mentioned the temple pictures we have been doing with the girls. We finally got them hung up in the hall upstairs and the girls love to walk by and look at them!

We did some sponge curlers last Sunday and the girls LOVED them! We will be doing them again!


I just loved this sweet face of Emma's. And it a great shot of her curly hair!

And YEAY, school started last week! We had a wonderful summer and loved it so much!

But, we were all ready to get back to our normal schedule again!

Rachel started 1st grade and she has the same teacher Sarah did in 1st grade, who we loved! Rach already loves school! She got to bring Po for show-and-tell the first day!!!


Sarah is a big 3rd grader this year! I can't believe it! WOW!!! She has 2 teachers and her locker is right next to one of her best friends! What a blast!

So we are ready to be back to normal. Emma starts preschool in a few weeks and she can't wait! Every morning she wakes up and asks if today is a school day. 3 days a week, I will be alone from 9-1:30. What am I going to do!?!?!?!?!?

Oh, don't even get me started!

Fun miscellaneous stuff....

This summer has been a mish-mash of happenings...
So here are some fun things we have been up to, in no particular order!

French braiding all the time!

It's great to have friends with awesome toys! Emma begs to drive it ALL THE TIME!!! I will have to blog about her Grand Theft Auto story sometime!

Each week this summer we are studying a different theme. Reading and math with that theme, art and science with that theme, etc... Last week was weather and we had some CRAZY weather! And this week, our theme is food and cooking! Here is our cooking from Sunday:

Making camping tin foil dinners and talking about different ways to cook dinner!

And, as you have seen from the past few posts, bread making is going on a ton at our house! A great friend taught me how to make bread in a hour and it has changed my life!!!!!!!! I am a little home-makery all of the sudden!!!

Then my first wheat bread attempt! BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!

But then this weeks bread didn't get enough water, so it was a little dry. Oh well, we will try again this weekend!!!

Weeks in March

March is a fun time at this house, so I wanted to update on what we've been up to!

For St. Patrick's Day the community does a 5k and some shorter runs. So we bundled up the girls and they ran the quarter mile. All 3 girls ran the whole way and had a blast with some friends from the ward!

And as you probably know, I love green food on St. Patrick's Day...
Green eggs, green milk and green butter and toast!!! Check the other blog for some green sandwiches I made for the girls and Richard to take for lunch! SO much fun!


Rachel loves eating funny colored food! She asked if she could eat it every day!


It's that time again at our house, the girls need a hair cut! The last time they had one was almost 2 years ago when they donated their hair to Locks of Love. So we figured it was time! We went over to a hair academy last Friday.

The supervisors were very entertaining for the girls!

Little Emma just had a hair cut 2 months ago, so she was just along for moral support for her sisters!

Sarah was just going to get a trim off the bottom and then she changed her mind and wanted it cut to her shoulders. So, why not! Good-bye 8 inches of hair!

Sarah held so still and had a great time!
I think we gave the stylists a run for their money! I think that they were very used to cutting adult's hair, so they learned a lot that day!

Happy girls after the hair cuts! A big difference for Sarah and a great trim for Rachel! And Emma loved climbing on and off the chairs and carrying around her sister's hair from the floor! Yuck!

We are great! Richard is working hard in school, getting good grades, and learning so much. One year behind us! And I am having a blast with my photography business and trying to keep ahead of things in Primary. We just had a huge shuffle in the ward yesterday, so we are just hanging in there until things settle down!

Photoshoots and frizzy hair (and it's rainning!!)

One week ago, Richard finished his first year of graduate school. YEAY!!! He did great and even got some A's to go along with the B's. I am so proud of him. He has been working hard and he deserved a break.

SO WE...

Stayed home and played the Wii and hung out as a family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZING!

Now, that may sound boring to some of you, but that is Richard's idea of a break! He has been tearing through Mario Brothers Wii and only yells at it a couple times a day. (0:

This week I also did a photoshoot with a family with a new baby, so in the cold weather, we had to do something indoors (not my thing). But I had to figure it out.
SO...
There is an amazing and beautiful glass enclosed bridge. At night, rainbow light races down the bridge.
And during the day it looks like this:



Emma is my guinea pig for my test shots and she LOVED it! What a cutie pie!


And I had to get Richard in on the test shot-ing! What a beautiful day!
I will get those pictures up on my Pure Photography blog in the next week (hopefully!). Let's just say, beautiful family with an angelic baby! And Grandma and Grandpa visiting, too! What a blast!

On Wednesday the girls got out of school early and we decided to do something totally different. We threw them in the bath at like 3:30 and then I braided their hair for the next day of school.




Rach took one look at Emma's hair and decided she didn't want any braids. A little too wacky for her. "It's a texture thing", as we say. I finally convinced her to only have 2 and we took them out in the morning and she loved it! We will be doing it again for her! (Maybe with a few more braids next time)


Emma loved her braids so much that she kept them in an extra day and here is the result. Pretty dang cute, I think!!!

And finally, the Sarah hair!!! One day of school full of braids (which she LOVED) and the next day she had this beautiful wavy hair! She love it and her friends at school loved it and wanted hair just like it!

What a fun way to spend Richard's random break at the end of February!

And I got up this morning and it was RAINING!!!! Maybe we are done with the winter here (maybe). And maybe it begins. The Spring Rain!!! I am getting ready to be soaked all the time. Here the umbrella isn't really a fashion accessory. It is a necessity. You never leave home without. We usually have 3 in the car and we use them EVERY time we leave anywhere! I will watch for some good rainy pictures for y'all!!!

(and hopefully there won't be more pictures of the snow next week, right?)

3D glasses, our hair and dance classes!

For her birthday, Sarah used some of her money to buy some sidewalk chalk that is 3D when you put on these glasses. The girls LOVE them! Here are some cutie pictures of that!




Hair has been a big thing at our house lately. I don't know how to french braid, so I went online and watched a bunch of YouTube videos and have been practicing. Here are a couple of my practicings...


And Richard just liked my hair...


Now that we have been here for almost a year, we started the girls in dance class. Sarah is taking Hip Hop and Rachel is taking ballet and tap.

First day...

Rachel stretching for ballet. On the way to dance that first week she told me she doesn't like ballet because she has to hold still. But, few weeks later, she told me she likes it a lot. And there is nothing like seeing Rachel tap across the floor!

Hip Hop is new to Sarah, so it was a little scary for Sarah at first. But she loves it! I love this picture of her! Look at that toe point!

"What does Emma do during dance time???" you ask. She stands at the drinking fountain and soaks herself! Gotta love it!!!
